HOUSE OF COMMONS OR CHAOS

Everyone I know, (including myself), have critical views of the way our politicians are dealing with the Brexit issue. But in all fairness, these politicians are human beings. Surely, they must all be as stressed out as most of us, - probably even more.

I listen to the commentary of the pundit working for the press, radio and tv, and none of the commentary expresses a solution.

If this were “Great Britain Corporation” the board would have been replaced long ago and a solution would have transpired, or the company would have become insolvent.

Cabinet members, ministers, back-benchers and even government whips are resigning left right and centre so that must indicate the severity of the situation.

When the dust has settled, I doubt if any future government will even consider devolving power to the uninformed public through a referendum to decide in which action the country should take.

The mind boggles on how the transition of an independent Scotland would be achieved if the Westminster government allows another referendum on independence.

Governance of today is incomparable to governance of my early years. No way could such a division in the House of Chaos be tolerated in the days of Churchill, Atlee, Eden, MacMillan and even Thatcher.

Standards of decency and protocol have declined remarkably in society and is now very apparent in the House of Chaos where it is televised daily.

Who would want to be a politician today? Not me…that’s for sure.
